Resiliency & Empathy - I think are what we gain most from moving out of pain
"When it's proving really tough, all your deepest challenges are coming up, When you're in the thick of it & just want to run away from healing... When you're in the trenches & it feels well, let's be frank, awful.... Why do it at all? I've shared my view from personal experience of the answer, the hope."

This outcome is a personal one. I believe that the outcome of working through chronic pain is resilient individuals capable of bending with the challenges of life.
The skills that you learn through moving through pain make you more empathetic, understanding and compassionate.
We are people who understand just how important listening to our friends, family and acquaintances truly is on our journey.

I believe that this process deeply teaches just how harmful gaslighting anyone's experience is, and therefore how important it is not to do so and to listen openly.
I believe that the process of healing, because of what it entails and requires of us, creates happier, more empathetic and compassionate people for this world.
I believe resilient compassionate people are the future to going on to lend their knowledge and way of being to others suffering out there in this world and in our communities.

In times of the Covid outbreak, we learned about the R value of a disease: if one person has it, what is the number of people they are likely to spread it to in their community?
The R-value of kindness is five.
Together we can help create a more compassionate world that holds space for people who are struggling to be heard.
Individuals who know that gaslighting experiences creates a world of harm.

I come from a background of science and engineering.
Thinking in my former profession, that if only we had the one technology to overcome all others and our energy problems, then the future could change.
What I found through working in those fields is that fundamentally we do have many technologies that can create a future that is sustainable for many more generations.
I realised that the problem is not in the technology solution.
The problem was within our systems and our social and political situation.

Quite simply the problem requires every one of us to work together. It all starts with listening and the openness to our fellow inhabitants of this earth.
I now work with people, because I believe one less person in pain who can offer empathy and kindness, is the way to a better world.

As ever thank you for reading.
